Quote of the Damn Day: Sister Helen Prejean

The more people go to church, the more they believe in the death penalty.

This statement doesn't seem to be grounded in reality. But I wish it were. The bush is in bad need of pruning.

And why IS that?

Denny,
Yes it is.

Ms. Moon,
Evidently none of them understand that Jesus preached forgiveness. I don't get it AT ALL.

I don't mean to pick on Denny, but that IS the truth. Not an opinion or a 'shot' but poll after poll has shown that the more one claims to be a devout Christian in America, the more in favor they are in the death penalty...

...if the so-called Christians weren't so busy twisting Jesus words and teachings to deny some people their rights and offering forgiveness and rehabilitation for others, then maybe Denny would have room to talk... but the numbers are not in his favor...

I am so glad my Jesus loves and forgives me. I prefer my prayer to happen outside when I am walking the dog or sitting on the porch swing at night. I simply don't feel a sense of belonging when I am in an organized religious setting. God and I have our own thing going on and it has been working well for many years. Your statement is true and statistically proven. I think many people practice selective hearing in church..Love you girl..xoxo

Big Mark,
You're preaching to the damn choir here. Love you.

Lori,
They must. I love you, too! Hope you are still liking the job.

Love to all,
